About Liberty’s Call
Freedom is something we all grew up with and most of us probably take for granted. We learned in school about the heroic deeds of our forefathers who created this nation and those who preserved it for us for nearly 250 years. But today, far more Americans worry about their team making the playoffs than losing their freedom. This comes with living in the most powerful nation on earth. But as Lincoln warned us, our greatest danger is from within. He should know.
A nation founded on the premise that all people are entitled to life and liberty understands the great potential of the human being and respects it. Let’s not forget that this potential also includes a single person capable of becoming a dictator, grow in power, and then control the lives of millions of others and even kill them if he so desires. This has happened throughout history. Freedom is the result of having respect for each other. Democracy is too. Our nation became great because it fully embraced that idea, and the result was invention, innovation, and prosperity. If respect for each other created our nation, what do you think a lack of it will do?
That is where we are now. Our media has been feverishly trying to get Americans into two camps, not just political camps, but cultural ones. They want us to distrust each other and our shared institutions. That weakens us and our nation and makes us more vulnerable. Once this trust is shattered, the Constitution that it’s based on, is on borrowed time. If we continue this path our democracy will collapse and, in its place will be authoritarian rule. Aspiring dictators are always out there ready to fix what’s not broken after they convince you, it is broken. This newsletter will be an attempt to point this out to you as it happens and remind you why we must never lose our love and respect for each other. There is no red or blue, there is just me and you.
